The valley of Orba, from which the village takes its name, has a mild climate, excellent water and is surrounded by orange groves,
lemon trees, almonds and of course, olives.
-
Orba is a small, typical Spanish country village with something over 1,600 inhabitants and the area still retains
its local Spanish culture with many Fiestas during the year, featuring a wide variety of different events including
dancing in the streets, firework displays, marching bands, religious celebrations and parades.
The village is situated 20km inland from the popular coastal resorts of Javea and Denia, and approximately 1 hour's
drive from the airports of Alicante and Valencia, via the excellent AP-7, one of Europe's most modern and best equipped motorways.
-
There are a number of reasonably priced bars and restaurants, a supermarket, grocery shops, bakeries, butchers,
bodega (wine cellar), video rental shop and numerous other shops to satisfy just about every need.
There are also banks, a pharmacy, a medical centre and dental surgery. A small market is held in the village every Wednesday
morning,
selling fruit and vegetables, clothes and souvenirs.
-
There is also a public swimming pool (as with all local villages), tennis courts, basketball and football pitches.
